The Singleton 17 YO was distilled in 2002, and this is the first ever official release of The Singleton of Dufftown matured 100 % in refill American oak hogsheads.

Nose: Floral and malty is the description that first springs to mind. Meadows covered in wild flowers and tall grass, bathed in an afternoon summer sun. Ripe barley corn running through my fingers. Soft notes of citrus and floral honey in the background. With time more honey, as well as soft notes of sawdust.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. Quite fiery initially - there’s a lot of spices here - almost harshly so. Mellows out fairly quickly though. Black and white pepper, grated ginger. Fruity soda pop.

Finish: Long finish. White pepper and mild chili. Less sweet towards the end. A touch green.

Comment: Damn fine!
