A young Talisker features in the Diageo Special Releases 2023. Finished in both white, tawny and ruby ex-port casks.

The Talisker - The Wild Explorador was available in Norway for a couple of days but appears to be all gone now.

Nose: Initially both shy and a bit boozy. Given time, it reveals notes of salty sea breeze, vanilla, and orchard fruits. Further patience brings out hints of dunnage warehouse and wet leaves.

Taste: Full-bodied with a malty and peppery profile. The autumnal notes of wet leaves and dunnage warehouse with damp earthiness closely match the nose. A pinch of salt adds depth.

Finish: Medium-long, maintaining the same profile, now enveloped by a veil of caramel and chocolate.

Comment: Young and feisty, but not too wild.
