This newest batch of Springbank Local Barley is again 10 YO, just like the 2019 release (see review).

The Springbank 10 YO Local Barley (2020) was made using locally grown Belgravia barley from Glencraig farm, a few miles from the distillery. It was matured in 100 % Oloroso sherry casks. Distilled in October 2010 and bottled on 2020-12-03, and limited to 8500 bottles.

The Springbank 10 YO Local Barley (2020) will go on sale in Norway on May 31 at NOK 1330 (13176901).

Nose: Deep, dark honey notes. Sherry spices. Mild funkiness in the background. Rich maltiness.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. Again dark and rich honey notes with a peppery edge to it. The funkiness is still lurking in the background, thank the whisky gods for that! Orchard fruits and vanilla.

Finish: Medium long finish. More of the same. It is a little greener now - cut grass and tomato plant. The rich maltiness is the base all the way.

Comment: Another great local barley from Springbank. No surprise there!
