Michter’s 20 YO (2016)

Michter’s 20 YO (2016), 57.1 %

I found this old sample of a 2016 release Michter’s 20 YO. I had to try it, of course, and here is what I found. For the record this is the batch 16H956, limited to 588 bottles.

I borrowed the bottle picture from The Bourbon Concierge. They last sold this whiskey at USD 8000!

Nose: Massive and commanding! Honey in every form - honey-glazed almonds, apples, and rich earthy cinnamon - all wrapped in dark caramel. Complex, rich, and seamlessly integrated alcohol.

Taste: Full-bodied with an unforgettable presence. Boldly spicy and indulgent, boasting layers of honey, nuts, caramel, dark chocolate, and a tropical hint of coconut reminiscent of a Bounty bar.

Finish: Long, dynamic, and evolving. Waves of intensity that alternate between bold, rich sweetness and milder fruity undertones, ending with a softly green and refreshing minty note.

Comment: A powerhouse of a whiskey!
