Isle of Raasay Amontillado Sherry Cask Release (Slàinte Club Exclusive), 4 YO, 50.7%

Distilled 2019-04-09, and initially matured in ex-rye Woodford Reserve American oak barrels, then a second maturation in ex-Amontillado American oak hogsheads (250L). Bottled 2024-01-04, and limited to 1520 bottles. Here is the description from the official product page:

“Unpeated spirit first matured in Rye casks with a second maturation in Amontillado Sherry Hogsheads. This bottling is exclusive to members of our Slàinte Club.!

Nose: Light, fruity, and intriguingly vegetal. Rich and multifaceted, with hints of tomato vine, vanilla, and orchard fruits emerging over time.

Taste: Full-bodied with a surprising upfront spice, featuring white and black pepper. Earthy layers of cinnamon, nutmeg, and pencil shavings add depth and texture.

Finish: Medium to short, carrying forward the earthy and spicy notes with a subtle herbal touch rounding it out.

Comment: Engaging and evolving character.
