Longrow 18 YO is another expression released annually by Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. I have now tested the Longrow 18 YO (2020) and for this release the cask mix is as follows: 55 % sherry casks, 25 % bourbon casks and 20 % rum casks.

Longrow is the heavily peated, double distilled, single malt made at the Springbank Distillery. It is peated to around 55 ppm.

This release is limited to 4300 bottles in total.

A few bottles of the Longrow 18 YO (2020) will be available in Norway tomorrow at NOK 1495 (12436001).

Nose: Deep peat. Rich sherry notes with a hint of bicycle tire repair kit. Dried fruits, baked apples, orange zest and vanilla.

Taste: Full, bodied. Sooty sugar cubes, sweet wood smoke, vanilla, and orchard fruits.

Finish: Long finish. Dry towards the end. Fruity; mainly apples but also some tropical fruits and citrus. Deeply sweet - notes of honey and toffee. A touch green on the finish.
