Springbank Distillery have only released a very limited number of their heavily peated Longrow 21 YO before. This will become an annual release now though, going forward.

The Longrow 21 YO (2019) has been matured in 60 % sherry casks and 40 % bourbon casks. It is a release limited to 3600 bottles.

A few bottles of the Longrow 21 YO (2019) will be available to buy in Norway starting tomorrow, and the price is NOK 2400 (12067001).

Nose: More balanced, more fruity and more complex than the 18 YO. No hint of any bicycle tire repair kit here. Being this old it comes off as medium peated. A deep, almost earthy peat.

Taste: Full bodied. Peppery and fiery peat. To me it feels far more peaty than the 18 YO. Lots of apples and mild pepper. Vanilla and cinnamon.

Finish: Long finish. Sugary sweetness. Caramel and maple syrup over baked apples. Peaty all the way.

Comment: A darn fine whisky.
