Springbank 21 YO is released annually, and this is the 2020 version. The casks used will vary from year to year, and this time the casks used are distributed as follows; 30 % bourbon, 30 % rum, 25 % sherry and 15 % port wine casks. This whisky was bottled on 2020-08-11, and the release is limited to 3300 bottles all in all.

The Springbank 21 YO (2020) is released for sale in Norway tomorrow at NOK 2850 (12435901).

Nose: It starts off with something green-ish and earthy-ish, as well as being a little funky-ish. OK, so it’s a Springbank - check!. With time I find it more and more soft and delightful. Fluffy candy flavoured clouds of farmyard fun and orchards bountiful.

Taste: Medium to full body. Dry and green at first. Then burnt caramel, vanilla, dried fruits, dunnage warehouse, and rhubarb. Raisins and assorted nuts. Mild smokiness, chocolate and toasted oak.

Finish: Long finish. Fruity with chocolate and green notes all the way. Sugary sweet on the finish.

Comment: Springbank 21 YO hits the mark again. Truly great dram.
