“In late 2019, a fire in the fuel store of our biomass boiler shut down production, dramatically truncating our annual output. Constraints breed creativity, and our third release brings together winter and summer runs of Concerto and Laureate barley, fermented for 120 hours and cut to an emerging GlenWyvis style in our squat pot stills. A unique trio of speciality casks contribute layers: red wine adds black fruit and spice, Moscatel adds floral notes of citrus while a lone Marsala cask brings unmistakable sweetness.”

This whisky is made combining the following 33 casks:

• 24x 1st fill ex-bourbon/Tennessee whiskey (68%)

• 2x 1st fill ex-red wine (7%)

• 2x 1st fill ex-Moscatel (7%)

• 2x 1st fill ex-Marsala (3%)

• 4x refill hogsheads (15%)

Nose: Fresh and clean fruitiness reminiscent of GlenWyvis 2018, but with added richness. The interplay of ex-bourbon casks and fruity distillate takes center stage, offering a multilayered fruitiness over time, complemented by a deep and appealing maltiness.

Taste: Full-bodied, featuring creamy vanilla and orchard fruits upfront. This evolves into tropical fruits and almond milk, followed by a second wave of chocolate nougat.

Finish: Medium-long, continuing with notes of nougat and creamy vanilla. Subtle hints of dried fruits and wet leaves emerge towards the end.

Comment: Richly layered and satisfying.
