Nose: Soot-laced caramel sauce rises first. Rich, smoky, and irresistibly smooth. A gentle and velvety swirl of red berries and vanilla follows, soft as silk. With time, floral and spiced honey lift the profile, adding nuance and elegance to the smoky sweetness.
Taste: Full bodied and expressive. Bold, wine-like fruitiness blends beautifully with malty richness. A balanced interplay of sweet peat, gentle oak, and peppery warmth provides structure. Toasted oak and subtle smokiness cradle the fruit.
Finish: Medium to long finish. The peat asserts itself confidently through to the end, but never overwhelms. Buzzing notes of ginger and oak spice keep things lively, while honeyed sweetness and roasted coffee beans offer a lingering close.
Comment: A deftly layered and delicious dram.
