Ardnahoe Infinite Loch
Ardnahoe Infinite Loch, NAS, 50%
Named after the nearby Loch Ardnahoe, which depth is unknown - hence possibly “infinite”. Matured in a combination of 1st fill ex-bourbon and 1st fill ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The Ardnahoe Infinite Loch is available in Norway at NOK 1000 (18935101).
Nose: A rich and layered nose with big hits of peat, malt, and earthy depth. There’s a coastal vibe to; salty sea breeze and soaked driftwood. With time, citrus edges in, along with vegetal touches reminiscent of tomato vine.
Taste: Full bodied and classic Islay. Deep, sweet and malty, with peat smoke woven throughout. There's a fascinating interplay between clean and dirty notes, all wrapped in a creamy, almost oily mouthfeel.
Finish: Medium long. Sooty dark chocolate leads the charge; imagine a dirty chocolate mousse (in the best way possible). Caramel, milk chocolate, and a pinch of ancho chili linger warmly at the end.
Comment: This is scrumptious!
