Turntable Smokin' Riff

Turntable Smokin' Riff, NAS, 46%

Here is the third and final core range product from independent bottlers Turntable Spirits. The Turntable Smokin' Riff is again a blended whisky with a rather high malt content (72%). See the official product page for more details.

So what music might have inspired the name for this whisky then? Well, my guess would be “Smokestack Lightning” by Howlin' Wolf, or possibly even “Rapture” by Blondie - simply because that song has a smokin' bass guitar riff!

The Turntable Smokin' Riff will be available in Norway in a few days at NOK 885 (17301201).

Nose: Soft and appealing with notes of a beachside bonfire and nearby barbecue. Sharpish hints of heavily scorched wood add depth, while lighter notes of orchard fruits and toasted marshmallows subtly emerge. Over time, a mild nuttiness develops.

Taste: Medium-bodied, offering a blend of soot and sweet ashes. The flavor profile includes orchard fruits intermingled with dried fruits, prominently prunes and figs, and a hint of plum juice.

Finish: Medium-long, with a solid base of peatiness. Complementary notes of chocolate and sweet malt provide a rich conclusion, with a touch of green at the end.

Comment: The smokiness gradually envelops you, ending with a warm, comforting embrace. Yum!
