Nose: Embarks as a formidable peat bomb. Initial impressions are dominated by soot and ashes, giving way to a profound earthiness. The smoke weaves through notes of dried fruits, evolving to incorporate leather and the savory essence of smoked meat on a barbecue. As it unfolds, it transitions from its intense beginnings to a richer, sweeter, and warmer presence, enriched by artisan bread crust, creamy vanilla, and a touch of brininess.
Taste: Full-bodied and undeniably peaty, echoing the nose's intensity. The rich wood smoke is complemented by a more pronounced fruitiness, blending juicy freshness with the earthy tones of soot and ashes.
Finish: The medium-long finish introduces a new layer of spices, including black and white pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. It gently closes with vanilla, milk chocolate, and a hint of green herbs.
Comment: Peaty perfection. Just make sure you give it ample time in the glass.
