OK, so this is not yet whisky. This is a work in progress. A unique chance for us, the consumers, to take part in the journey towards actual whisky produced at Kimerud Distillery, in Lier, Norway.

This product is matured in virgin American barrels (ASB). The Stiger will be followed next year by a two year old single malt, and then in 2023 Kimerud Distillery will release their first single malt whisky.

The Stiger - Norwegian Single Malt  1 YO goes on sale in Norway tomorrow (May 31) at NOK 690 (13175002).

Nose: Malty with lots of cereal notes. A bit green - tomato plant. Hints of tropical fruits. With time also cucumber and, of course, more vanilla.

Taste: Medium to light body. Rich maltiness again. Clean and crisp. Vanilla, white pepper and hints of ginger.

Finish: Short finish. Ripe, green apples. Vanilla, white pepper and honey.

Comment: Clean, fruity and honest. One to follow!
