A fairly new double matured expression from Springbank. Initially six years in refill ex-bourbon barrels, then four years in fresh ex-Palo Cortado casks. This expression is limited to 10600 bottles. Distilled July 2012 and bottled 2023-09-11.

The Springbank Sherry Wood Palo Cortado goes on sale in Norway next week at NOK 1485 (17498601).

Nose: Rich and creamy with pronounced sherry notes, caramel, and a touch of leather.

Taste: Full-bodied. Tomato vine and toasted oak lead, followed by lighter, sweeter tones of vanilla, caramel, and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Medium-long, with a green, herbal quality. Notes of caramel, "dirty" milk chocolate, and a subtle floral touch at the end.

Comment: Well-balanced and complex.
