This is actually a world premier, as far as I know. The new Scapa 21 YO has not been launched internationally, but it is coming to Norway in a few days. Not very surprisingly, this whisky has been exclusively matured in ex-bourbon casks.

The Scapa 21 YO Orkney Single Malt Whisky goes on sale in Norway next week at NOK 2799 (18735301).

Nose: Warm and honeyed, with rich, sweet aromas that invite you in.

Taste: Full-bodied with the hearty, rustic charm of artisanal bread crust, almost reaching a burnt edge. A playful fruitiness adds layers to the rich palate.

Finish: Long and complex, carrying through with a delightful candy shop sweetness and lingering fruitiness. A subtle hint of tomato vine emerges at the end, adding a unique touch.

Comment: Warm and layered, with rustic depth.
