Queen Margot
Queen Margot, NAS, 40 %
This is a cheap, bottom shelf Scotch bottled for German food chain Lidl. The 8 YO version actually won the award as the world’s best “blended whisky aged under 12 years”. But this is the NAS version. So, let’s see what this is like.
A bottle of Queen Margot will set you back GBP 11 at Lidl UK and around € 7 in Germany.
Nose: Mild and approachable, which is a good start. Caramel and ripe apples. Vanilla and caramel. Maybe a bit of honey. That’s it. No further development here. Move along.
Taste: Slim and shady. Watery M&Ms.
Finish: It hardly Mathers.
Comment: It want’s ice, ice, baby. Meh.
