This is a spirit drink, too young to be called a whisky yet. Made from 100 %, 20 % malted rye and 80 % unmalted rye. Some use of enzymes involved.

The Oxford Rye - Heritage Grains is available in Norway at NOK 790 (14920901).

Nose: The initial waft presents a delightful dance of caramel and creamy vanilla, entwined in a tender embrace. Then a playful sprinkle of milk chocolate and a zesty tickle of pepper. With time also assorted nuts.

Taste: A medium body that boldly steps into a spicier realm than the nose hinted at. The initial sip strikes with a punch of white pepper, softened by the warm embrace of ginger. Then sweet butterscotch and creamy vanilla make an entrance, as well as hints of ripe apples.

Finish: The finale is short to medium in its linger. A pronounced emphasis on the butterscotch and vanilla now taking center stage. The peppery notes reprise for a bold, spicy curtain call.

Comment: A spicy serenade with a sweet refrain!
