I have now reached the fifth of the six whiskies in the Mackmyra Privus Series. These whiskies were released for sale back in 2007 and 2008.
The Mackmyra Privus:05 Spanska spåret was a limited release of 1000 bottles (50 cl). It was bottled on 2008-01-28.
This is an unpeated expression, matured fully in sherry seasoned casks.
Nose: Young and rather raw at the edges. Dried fruits, cinnamon and dry chocolate.
Taste: Medium body and rather raw in character. Sure there are plenty soft, and delicate sherry notes here, bit the immature rawness is overwhelming on the palate.
Finish: Short finish. Residual notes of dried fruits, chocolate red berries and vanilla. Then it is all gone.
Comment: Purely of academic interest.
