This is the second of four Mackmyra whiskies released for the German market in 2017. They have all been finished in Rotspon casks from the von Have vineyard. They have all been named to honor famous Swedish women.

The Mackmyra Lovisa Rotspon Double Wood is an unpeated whisky, and has its name from Lovisa Åhrberg 1801-1881, the first formally recognized female doctor in Sweden. This release is limited to 420 bottles.

Nose: Light fruitiness, mixed with wine like sweetness. Hints of dunnage warehouse (and that’s a positive note for me). Sugary sweet.

Taste: Medium body and well over medium sweetness. Honey. White sugar. Juicy orchard fruits.

Finish: Medium long finish. Heavier sweetness now - borderline too sweet. Honey with notes of mint, wax and petroleum.

Comment: A bit too sweet..
