Initially matured for 6 years in fresh ex-bourbon casks and before 38 casks were selected and married for 2 years in two 6000 litre Portuguese red wine vats. Note that you cannot age Scotch in casks larger than 700 litres, so those last 2 years do not count towards the age of the whisky. This is the 2022 edition, limited to 12900 bottles.

Nose: Begins with malt, smoke, and milk chocolate, setting a rich tone. As it develops, there's a hint of salt, complemented by the freshness of juicy green apples.

Taste: The palate is full-bodied and laden with richness, featuring pepper and malt alongside an abundance of summer fruits and strawberries. Creamy vanilla and almond milk add smoothness.

Finish: The finish is medium-long, echoing the earlier flavors. Creamy vanilla and white pepper are particularly pronounced, with a subtle oaky note concluding the experience.

Comment: A solid choice.
