OK, it is not yet whisky, but it is darn exciting stuff anyways. Another release from the new Japanese distillery Kanosuke. I have previously reviewed the New Pot (unmatured) and the 8 months New Born from Kanosuk, and I am very impressed so far with the quality they deliver.

This time around I am looking more closely at the Kanosuke 12 months New Born. It has been matured in American white oak casks.

The Kanosuke 12 months New Born goes on sale in Norway on June 4 at NOK 399 for a 20 cl bottle (1751604).

Nose: Light and smooth. Creamy and malty. Very clean in character. Vanilla and mixed tropical fruits.

Taste: Full bodied and rich on the palate. Creamy just as the nose promised. Vanilla, malt, and pepper. Deeply fruity.

Finish: Medium long finish. Tropical fruits. Caramel and nuts. Ginger and aniseed. Green notes in the background.

Comment: Pay attention to Kanosuke, people!
