A release from independent bottler Edinburgh Whisky. This whisky represents the “region” Islay in their Discovery Collection series. Distilled September 2013 at Bunnahabhain Distillery, and bottled December 2022. Matured in refill ex-bourbon hogsheads.

Nose: Wood smoke and softly medicinal peatiness. Dark chocolate and a whiff of factory new wellies. With time there’s a barbecue going at the beach.
Taste: Medium to full body. Creamy vanilla and then the same wood smoke and medicinal peat notes. White pepper and soot. Chocolate and tangy barbecue sauce.
Finish: Medium long finish. Not a whole lot of development, but there is plenty of loveable feisty and roughish smoke and peat here.
Comment: I do believe I like this one.
