Ichiro's Malt & Grain

This is a blend courtesy of Ichiro Akuto, the man behind Chichibu, Japan. He has created this whisky with whisky sourced from Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and USA, mixed with his own single malt from Chichibu, as well as some older components from now closed distilleries Kawasaki and Hanyu.

The Ichiro's Malt & Grain will be available to buy in Norway starting November 15 at NOK 1400 (10554801). I believe it is rather hard to get anywhere else.

Nose: Harmonious and complex. Light fruity notes of apples and pears, with a dash of citrus. White chocolate, vanilla and soft maltiness.

Taste: Very rich and full-bodied. Sweet and fruity. Ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg add some spice. Hints of camphor.

Finish: Medium long finish. The sweetness now comes across as demerara sugar and toffee. Lighter notes of icing sugar and canned pears. Nutty. A bit dry in the end.

Comments: This is a very impressive blend.
