About time I did another review of whisky from Speyside distillery Glenrothes. The Glenrothes 12 YO - Soleo Collection is fully matured in sherry casks as far as I know.
You can pickup a bottle of the Glenrothes 12 YO - Soleo Collection in Norway at NOK 600 (1522201), and in the UK at around GBP 41.
Nose: Mixed spices, vanilla and a touch of the green. The spices include pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. Notes of green appear as cut grass and tomato plant. A pleasant nose that keeps growing in a positive way.
Taste: Medium to thin body. Vanilla, cinnamon, simple syrup, and light notes of orchard fruits. Upon subsequent sips I find honey dew melon.
Finish: Medium long finish. Additional flavours that come to the fore are sweet licorice, ginger and mild oakiness.
Comment: Not too shabby at all.
