The GlenAllachie 9 YO Rye Wood Finish was released in 2020. It has been matured in American oak barrels, and then finished in Kentucky Rye casks.

Nose: Rich and fruity on the nose. Apples, bananas and peanuts, all with a sprinkling of cracked black pepper. With time a soft nuttiness and hints of citrus.

Taste: Rich and quite peppery character. The rye wood seems to have left a distinct mark on the palate here. Sweet fruitiness - although hard to pick out individual fruits. Honey sweetness.

Finish: Medium long finish. The pepper notes do linger for a bit, then they crawl into the shadows. …and, here we go; the banana is back, as is the apple. Also hints of citrus. Less sweet now. Softly green in the end.
