A cask strength annual release from Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia. This 2021 release was matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in a combination of heavily charred and ex-Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose: A real winter warmer. Comforting notes of earthy cinnamon, dark chocolate and nutmeg. Mulled wine and fine sherry. With time also cold brewed coffee and creamy vanilla.

Taste: Rich, spicy and full bodied. I find much of the same as what the nose revealed; cinnamon, nutmeg and chocolate. But also smoked paprika, chipotle chili and white pepper. Sherry, red berries and a touch of green grass.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More green now, but it remains spicy and warm. Orchard fruits ion the background as we come to a close. Dry and dark finish with a pinch of salt.
