This is the fourth annual release of the Fettercairn 16 YO. It has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and 1st fill ex-port pipes.

Nose: The nose presents a blend of the earthy, damp scent of wet leaves and the mustiness of dunnage warehouses. Oakiness then as well as hints of earthy, dry cinnamon. Over time, notes of caramel and vanilla gently surface.

Taste: A medium body that carries the earthy theme forward from the nose. Flavors of wet leaves and dunnage warehouses are prominent, accompanied by the unusual yet pleasant taste of rhubarb dipped in sugar. Cinnamon lurks in the background.

Finish: Medium-long finish. Continues in the same vein as the nose and taste. As a bonus it introduces an additional layer of chocolate-covered caramel nuggets.

Comment: Earthy caramel elegance.
