Blair Athol single malt, here as a single cask release from independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd. Matured in a hogshead before being finished in a single ex-Sauternes cask (cask #303323). Limited to 301 bottles.

The Blair Athol 2010 13 YO (BBR) is available to buy in Norway at NOK 1907 (17431201).

Nose: Soft oakiness reminiscent of pencil shavings, with hints of white pepper and mild caramel. Over time, lighter notes of orchard fruits emerge, blending sweet apples with a splash of pineapple and citrus, like fresh fruit juice.

Taste: Full-bodied and bold, with white pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg upfront. Dryish in character and overall spicy, with sweet fruits arriving in a second wave.

Finish: Medium-long, becoming lighter and more fruity as it wraps up. The spices linger but have taken a backseat by the end.

Comment: A well-layered whisky.
