Today I am tasting the Bladnoch 1990 21 YO The First Editions, from Edition Spirits, now a part of Independent Bottler Hunter Laing. This whisky was matured in cask #ES005/01, distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2011.
Bladnoch is a small Lowland distillery, one of very few operational distilleries in this region. Right now Bladnoch appears to be in financial trouble, and as a consequence the visitors center is closed.

Nose (23/25): Lots of fruits! Apples, pears, lemons and a hint of lime. Well-rounded, rich and warm. Vanilla and fruit drops.
Taste (22/25): Rich, sweet almost syrupy. Sugar sweet, with all kinds of sweet fruits - same as I found on the nose.
Finish (22/25): Rich, complex, fruity and syrupy all the way to the finish line.
Balance (22/25): This whisky comes across as a very well-balanced whisky to me. It all comes together quite harmoniously.
