BB & R Blue Hanger 11th Release
BB & R Blue Hanger 11th Release, NAS, 45.6 %
This is the 11th release of the famous blended malt from independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd (BB & R). The product is named after a gentleman called William Hanger. He was a regular customer at BB & R and was apparently always dressed in blue.
The BB & R Blue Hanger 11th Release is a vatting of eight casks: 4 hogsheads, 3 sherry butts and 1 puncheon. In this mix there is both peated and unpeated Bunnahabhain, as well as one or more other unspecified single malts.
A few bottles of BB & R Blue Hanger 11th Release will be available to buy in Norway starting December 15 at NOK 1600 (1925901). You can also find it online at around GBP 80.
Nose: Dry smoke and medium sweetness. A bit out of focus at first. Vanilla, hints of dried fruit. A hint of sulphur in the back. Some fruits with time.
Taste: Medium body. Mild caramel and again some fruitiness. Medium dry and medium sweet. Very much medium in most respects.
Finish: Medium long finish (well, what do you know - medium again). Caramel and light, dry smoke.
Comments: Even Steven. OK, I guess, but I was expecting a bit more from the online buzz.
