This whisky, the Arran 17 YO Limited Edition, is the second release in a series marking the countdown to the launch of The Arran Malt 18 Years Old in the spring of 2015. This release is limited to 9000 bottles world wide.

Again it appears a whisky is released faster in Norway than in Sweden, which is a bit surprising to me. This whisky is already available to buy here at NOK 950 (item number 1723101), but still no availability in Sweden.

Nose (22/25): Caramel, citrus (lemon and oranges), creamy vanilla, and some herbal notes. It is quite salty, I think. It is somewhat sweet, a bit of honey.

Taste (21/25): Smooth, creamy vanilla again, and fruity. Not just the citrus now, but also fresh apples. Mild spices are added to the mix.

Finish (19/25): Ginger, white pepper, mandarins, and the herbal notes from the nose are back. Dry towards the end, with a slight metallic edge.

Balance (20/25): This is a good dram, but I was expecting a bit more. I guess Arran have spoiled me a bit with their many great single cask releases over the past couple of years.
