Ardbeg Uigeadail, NAS, 54.2 %

Matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, this is a true classic in the Ardbeg core range. This has been a long time favorite of mine.

The ardbeg Uigeadail is available to buy in Norway at NOK 980 (6052401).

Nose: Deep and rich peat smoke mixed with cold cuts, bacon and some citrus.

Taste: Rich and complex. Lots of smoke and spices from the first sip. Black peat smoke with pepper and dry licorice root. Cinnamon and nutmeg. Heather honey.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Sugary fruitiness now - a veritable fruit cocktail. Pineapple on the grill. Ripe mango and honeydew melon. Ever covered by a decadent and bombastic peat smoke.

Comment: A smoke bomb of the sweet variety!

PS! There is a fair bit of chatter amongst whisky nerds about how the Ardbeg Uigeadail was soo much better before. Well, perhaps it was a little better before, but it is still a darn fine whisky. Stop whining and just enjoy this dram.
