The Thy Spelt-Rye whisky is a single distilled whisky from Thy Distillery. The cereal wizards strike again! The Thy Spelt-Rye is a core product, and based on the use of malted rye (60%), spelt (10%) and Odyssey barley (30%). Exclusively matured in new American oak casks. This is a certified organic product. This liquid was distilled in 2019, which makes it 4-5 years old.

Nose: Ooh, love the candy store vibes! Fudge, butterscotch, marshmallows, fruity hard candy, and honey cake all come through. With time, a whiff of mint and soft floral notes emerge.

Taste: Full-bodied with a deliciously creamy mouthfeel. Rich maltiness blends with pepper and honey. Marshmallows dripping in warm caramel sauce, and a sweet hit of strawberry-flavored ice cream.

Finish: Medium-long, turning drier. Peppery notes mix with green herbs, but the sugary sweet fruitiness still lingers in the background.

Comment: A playful and rich dram!
