Teerenpeli Savu
Teerenpeli Savu, NAS, 43 %
Time for some Finnish single malt again. This time from Teerenpeli. Matured in a combination of 80 % ex-bourbon and 20 % ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Teerenpeli themselves call it a gently peated whisky.
Nose: Light wood smoke and ripe orchard fruits form the initial impression, with butterscotch, vanilla, and a hint of oakiness emerging over time.
Taste: Medium to light body, offering a combination of soot, licorice, and white pepper, followed by a wave of juicy and ripe orchard fruits.
Finish: Medium-long, with spices subsiding and licorice and sweetness persisting for a very pleasant end.
Comment: Nice!
