A young Talisker also makes an appearence in Diageo’s Special Releases 2020. The Talisker 8 YO was distilled 2011, and matured in refill casks and finished in pot-still Caribbean rum casks.

You can buy the Talisker 8 YO (Special Releases 2020) in Norway starting Friday November 6 at NOK 1100 (12314701). You can also pick up bottles in the UK at around GBP 90.

Nose: Hmm.. Initially I am met with sour and bitter-ish notes of soaked oak, With time the sour notes dissipate, thank you very much! I am left with wet planks, earthy notes of pepper, toasted oak and medium chocolate peat.

Taste: Ample body and plenty of fiery pepper. This is a rascal of a whisky. Plenty of peat, sweet wood smoke, green-ish notes of soot. Rather salty - with a touch of licorice.

Finish: Short to medium finish. It remains peppery and feisty all the way. Not at all sweet - more dry and green towards the end. Artificial sweetener.

Comment: Hmm.. not quite sure about this one really.
