Another expression in the beloved Local Barley series from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The Springbank 10 YO Local Barley (2019) has been made using locally grown Belgravia barley from West Back farm.

It has been matured in a mix of 77 % bourbon casks, 20 % sherry casks and 3 % port casks.

The Springbank 10 YO Local Barley (2019) goes on sale in Norway on Monday at NOK 1295 (12066901).

Nose: Big! Bread crust, malt, and medium wood smoke. Freshly cut, juicy apples hidden in a pile of cold ashes. Vanilla and ripe pears. Hints of dried fruit. A dunnage warehouse and a farm in the background.

Taste: Big and full bodied. Pepper and chili upfront. Then a rich wave of barley juice, dirty malt drops and fizzy ginger.

Finish: Medium long finish. Drier on the finish, and less sweet. Cut grass, malt and vanilla.

Comment: You gotta love it!
