Here we have a Highland single malt from Ardmore Distillery. This is an independent bottling by Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS). It was distilled 2012-04-25, and initially matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry butt. Then it received a finish in a 2nd fill ex-sherry butt, with a resulting outturn of 623 bottles.

The name of this bottling, “I like big butts”, is of course a reference to the song “Baby Got Back” by Sir MixaLot, and made famous in the TV-series Friends as it was Ross’ favorite song.

Nose: Almond milk, roasted almonds and marzipan. Yeah, it is a little nutty! Pepper and gentle wood smoke.

Taste: Full bodied, peppery and smoky. That does sum it up really. Of course there is more to it. It is rather sweet and fruity, behind the smoke and pepper. Hints of dried fruits.

Finish: Medium long finish. Strawberry milkshake. Rich, peppery and herbal honey. More dried - yet juicy - fruits towards the end.
