Nose: I’m greeted with a deep, dark, almost murky aroma. It's a blend of dried fruits, the dampness of an earth cellar, and the scent of wet leaves on an autumn wood path after heavy rain. As it breathes, it becomes more aromatic yet retains a 'dirty' essence. Imagine a distant pine wood on fire, red berries, and orchard fruits dusted with soot and hot embers. Over time, there's the earthy freshness of root vegetables straight from the soil.
Taste: Full-bodied and potent. The profile is rich in fruity, peaty notes. Orchard fruits and red berries are now joined by the slightly bitter touch of rowan berries. It's massively smoky and peaty, yet it manages a gentle caress on the palate.
Finish: A long finish where dried fruits become more assertive, deeper, and darker. You'll taste dark spices, soot, freshly turned black soil, and a hint of mild oak. It's like sugar cubes soaked in the essence of autumn, with the smoldering pine wood forest still lingering in the distance.
Comment: I love this!
