Royal Brackla 21 YO

Royal Brackla 21 YO, 46%

Initially matured in unspecified casks, but most likely refill casks. Then finished in a combination of three types of ex-sherry casks; Oloroso, Palo Cortado, and Pedro Ximénez.

You can get your hands on a bottle of the Royal Brackla 21 YO online at around GBP 230.

Nose: Ripe fruits with banana taking the lead. Rich malty undertones blend beautifully with soft caramel. As it opens, oakiness and dusty nuances emerge, complemented by a hint of eucalyptus and luxurious perfume.

Taste: Full-bodied with a cool, spicy entry that transitions into tropical fruit notes. Layers of raisins, honey, and pencil shavings add depth and intrigue.

Finish: Long and evolving, becoming slightly drier while retaining its fruity character. Notes of chocolate, red berries, stone fruit, and oak bring it to a satisfying close.

Comment: Richly layered and complex.

Score 89/100
