This Royal Brackla 2006 14 YO Octave was initially matured in an ex-sherry cask for 14 years then received an 8 month finish in a single octave cask (cask #9327738). The total outturn was 78 bottles when it was bottled earlier this year.

The Royal Brackla 2006 14 YO Octave goes on sale in Norway this Monday at NOK 1685 (13801401).

Nose: Sugary sweet, with lots of vanilla. Tropical fruits - pineapple and banana first and foremost.

Taste: Medium body. Aggressive pepper and spicy oakiness at first. Then a lovely sweet wave of tropical fruits and vanilla.

Finish: Medium long. More dry now, and hardly any sweetness left. Rowan berries and mild bitter-ish oakiness. Green herbs.

Comment: A spicy treat.
