Paul John Peated Select Cask

Time now for another whisky from the Indian whisky brand Paul John. We have previously tried a couple of whiskies from this rather new distillery (see here and here).

This whisky is a peated variant, made with peated malt imported from Scotland. It is bottled at A cask strength of 55,5 %, and was released in 2013 as a limited edition.

You can buy this whisky in Sweden at SEK 945 (item number 85963). Whiskytaste Sweden is the importer for Sweden, and unfortunately there is no Norwegian importer in place yet.

Nose (22/25): Smooth, soft and rich. There is definitely peat here, the sweet kind. Lots of vanilla and fresh fruit - citrus and banana.

Taste (21/25): Oh, even fresher! I find mint, sweet peat, ashes, and a hint of artificial sweetener.

Finish (21/25): It just keeps getting fresher, and the peat is gradually falling off. Eucalyptus, mint, creamy caramel, and vanilla. The fnish is medium long and warmish.

Balance (21/25): Another pleasant whisky from Paul John. If you have not tried anything from this distillery yet, you should take a chance on them next time you have the opportunity.
