This whisky was bottled exclusively for the Swedish whisky magazine Allt om whisky in 2018. The Old Pulteney 2004 14 YO cask #196 has been matured in a single American oak ex-bourbon cask. The total outturn was 300 bottles.

Nose: Notes of honey, pepper and green apple strike me first. Vanilla, marzipan, sea salt and citrus make up the second wave. Softly malty and with a hint of toasted oak with time.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. A very nice and peppery bourbon arrival. Ginger, coconut milk, and creamy vanilla. More spices on subsequent sips. Deeply sweet.

Finish: Medium long finish. Remains sweet but turns slightly dry. More fruity on the finish. The citrus from the nose make an appearance as well as ripe orchard fruits.

Comment: Maritime honey.
