Nose: Surprisingly rich and peaty. I find big wood smoke with just a touch of salt, and in the back a light fruitiness. Vanilla and nuts.

Taste: Medium body. Not as rich on the palate as the nose hinted at. Again quite peaty and again wood smoke. It is sweeter now, and there's icing sugar and licorice in abundance. Fresh apples and almonds paste.

Finish: Medium long finish. Darker towards the end. Peppery ashes and warm embers. Hints of chili. Caramel and vanilla ice cream melting.

Comment: Lots of character and youthful punch. One for the peat heads.
