Here is release number four from the small Danish distillery, Vingården Lille Gadegård. This whisky was distilled in December 2008, and bottled in 2015. Now, since the distillery state that the whisky is 7 years old, that would imply that it was bottled in December 2015.

The Vingården Lille Gadegård Bornholmsk Whisky Nr. 4 was matured in a French wine cask (225 litre), just like the three previous releases I have reviewed.

You can still buy this whisky at the reasonable price of DKK 399 from the distillery online shop.

Nose: Warm and a little bit musty. Dirt tracks and damp wine cellars. Ripe grapes, wet leaves, and light spices. No off notes at all, and does not feel near as young as the previous releases.

Taste: Smooth, half-dry and almost grainy mouthfeel. Pepper, cinnamon, ginger, ripe apples and grapes. Quite pleasant notes here, if not very pronounced and defined.

Finish: Medium long finish. More sweet and sugary for a bit, then it turns more dry again. Light oakiness towards the end. The finish is a bit 'unremarkable' for lack of a better word.

Comments: The best release from Vingården Lille Gadegård by far. I like the added depth and the smoother character here over previous releases.
