The Mackmyra Moment Solsken (8) is the eight release in the Moment Series from Swedish distillery Mackmyra. This no age statement expression was released in a limited edition of 3000 bottles in 2012.

"Our eighth release in the Moment series is a slightly spicy whisky with golden nuances of grass, fresh herbs and a light smokiness, partly matured in sherry casks."

The Mackmyra Moment Solsken (8) is sold out in Sweden, but you can buy it online at around GBP 120.

Nose: Definitely a lot of sherry influence on the nose. There's a touch of smokiness here, but nothing dominating. Dried fruits mixed with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Taste: Medium body, and slightly dry mouthfeel. Ashes, oaky dryness, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks (like really licking the actual cinnamon stick, like really, literally, like, you know, like, yeah? ok?)

Finish: Medium to short finish. Continues to dry up quickly. Surprisingly little sweetness here.

Comments: An odd one, in my book. Quite dry, and tapers off too quickly on the finish. Young-ish, and not amongst the best in the Moment Series so far.
