Japanese whiskies with age statements, have become ever harder to get the past few years. Great to see a (relatively) new product surface here in the Nordics then. The Nikka 12 YO is a blended whisky, and it is available to buy in Sweden and online in for instance the UK. It has been spotted at whisky festivals in Norway earlier this year, so we might see it released here as well in the near future.

You can buy the Nikka 12 YO Blended Malt in Norway (soon) at NOK 1300 (7677101), in Sweden at SEK 1129 (1169501), and online at around GBP 94.

Nose: Soft and exotic oakiness, vanilla and light caramel sauce. Milk chocolate and almond paste. A bit dry.

Taste: Full bodied and surprisingly rich. Spicy upfront, followed by a calmer, sweeter and more fruity wave.

Finish: Medium long finish. Soft notes of honey and chocolate. Vanilla and light fruitiness. Hints of coffee.

Comments: Good whisky but not on the wow level I am used to with for instance the Nikka Whisky From the Barrel.
