Michter's 10 YO Single Barrel Straight Rye
Michter's 10 YO Single Barrel Straight Rye, 46,4 %
A brief review today, but I am sure you can manage. I am reviewing the Michter's 10 YO Straight Rye. This is a single barrel release, and it is the release that came out in 2016. It was bottled on 2014-02-24, with a total outturn of 100 bottles, from what I can see on Whisky Base. The previous release of the Michter's 10 YO Straight Rye was in 2014.
If you can find a bottle of this rare rye you will have to pay a bit over GBP 100.
Nose: Rich sweetness. Vanilla. Fudge. Heather honey on warm toast. White pepper.
Taste: Full and rich mouthfeel. Sweet and spicy. The sweetness is manifested as vanilla, light fudge and corn. The spiciness is represented by white and black pepper. Hints of mint.
Finish: Long finish. Continues much as it started, but the mint becomes a bit more pronounced. A touch of oakiness and menthol towards the end.
Comments: A lovely rye!
