Mars Komagatake x Chichibu - Malt Duo, NAS, 54 %

A blended malt of single malt whisky from Mars Shinshu and Chichibu distilleries in Japan. Matured at the Mars Shinshu Distillery. This whisky was bottled and released in 2021, and was limited to 10918 bottles.

Believe it or not, but this blended malt sells for GBP 500 in the UK. In Norway you get a bottle for NOK 3990 (14503501).

Nose: Rich, deep and fruity. Banana and orchard fruits. Hints of leather and cigar box. With time also creamy vanilla. Toasted oak and chocolate.

Taste: Big flavored and full bodied. Again very fruity, at the same time it is semi-dry in character. White pepper and some oaky astringency.

Finish: Medium long finish. Greener now, but still quite fruity. Somewhat sweet, but not very. Smart finish.

Comment: Very enjoyable, and very solid.
