A core range product from Macallan. The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 YO is matured in sherry casks only, and the majority of these were made with European oak.

The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 YO goes on sale in Norway on June 4 at NOK 2585 (458501). You can also get it in the UK at around GBP 295, which is significantly more expensive than in Norway.

Nose: Caramel and dried fruits. Hints of rubber tubing. Orchard fruits and ginger. Cinnamon and nutmeg.

Taste: Medium body and sweetness. Much the same as the nose really. Dry in style. Greener notes in the back.

Finish: Medium long finish. Continues as it started, then it lets up and turnes both sweeter and greener towards the end.

Comment: I find it a little bit boring - it is in a way too well made, a bit too “correct”. Definitely good quality, although I would have preferred to have no rubber on the nose.
